I’m from Kolkata, India. I’m an electrical engineer and I am a mentor for the Introduction to Power Electronics course. Mentoring with Coursera has been a wonderful experience.

What’s your favorite Coursera course and why?

Learning How to Learn is my favorite Coursera course. This is a great course because I acquired a lot of knowledge about recent findings on the workings of the brain and how to learn effectively.

This course has helped me a lot in my life.

What impact have Coursera courses had on your life?

Coursera courses have made a significant impact on my life, over the past one year. I have learned a lot from the Power Electronics Specialization courses and interacted with lot of people working in that field.

These courses have helped me to cope with the challenges of life.

I have learned new programming languages and other topics in which I am interested. My desire for life-long learning was fulfilled by Coursera. I am now a part of the translation team involved in translating some Coursera courses to my native language, Bengali.

How did you decide to become a Mentor?

I did my masters study in this field and wanted to pursue a career in power electronics.

I realized mentoring will help me to obtain a greater understanding of the topic, as one learns best when he or she is also teaching or mentoring others.

I wanted to help the learners beginning in this field of study so that they can have a good and enjoyable learning experience.
